NRA Basic Shotgun Shooting

The NRA Basic Shotgun Shooting course teaches the fundamental knowledge, skills, and attitude required for the safe and proper use of a shotgun, with emphasis on shooting moving targets.
This course is an up to eight-hour program that includes both classroom instruction and live-fire range training. Students learn proper shotgun operation, safe handling, and shooting fundamentals under the direct supervision of a certified instructor.

Course Materials & Completion

Students receive the Basics of Shotgun Shooting handbook, NRA Gun Safety Rules brochure, Winchester / NRA Marksmanship Qualification booklet, and a course completion certificate. A short written examination is administered at the conclusion of the course.

Prerequisites
There are no formal prerequisites for this course. The material is accessible to mature, appropriately supervised youth. Please note that proper shotgun fitting can be time-consuming and may affect overall course pacing.
Required Documentation
All students must download, read, sign, and bring the Liability Waiver to class.
